03 Jan 2015

Happy new year! 2015 is off to a scorching start in Adelaide with bushfires burning out of control in the Adelaide Hills. Remember to follow CFS advice and look after yourselves and your animals!

The new year also brings the start of award season, culminating in the Academy Awards on February 22. Today we revisited some of our favourite interviews with 2015 AACTA nominated filmmakers.

We heard from Jennifer Kent, writer/director of The Babadook, who picked up nominations for Best Direction and Best Original Screenplay, and the film received nominations for Best Feature Film, Best Editing, Best Production Design and Best Lead Actress.

Rolf de Heer also spoke to us about his latest film Charlies Country, which has been nominated for Best Film, Best Direction, Best Original Screenplay, Best Sound and Best Lead Actor.

And we also listen back to our chat with director Christopher Houghton about his feature documentary Sons & Mothers which has picked up nominations in the following Documentary categories – Best Direction, Best Cinematography, Best Editing and Best Sound.

You can view the rest of the nominees for the 4th AACTA awards at their website.
